Wheelie bars if in place get destroyed Real fast. Twisted to scrap metal.
 
I guess my take on that is that its rather obvious that guys CAN,T DRIVE, and must enjoy spending piles of cash on new suspension and frame parts & repairs rather than racing,you need to be in total control of the car, you don,t simply apply the most power you can as fast as you can and expect to remain in total control!
I learned damn quickly with my low 10 second 1968 corvette that you launched at about 1800 rpm and applied additional extra throttle, slowly, ( a learned skill) as the suspension and tires could use it, as failing to do that ,the engine torque would pull the front tires rather than accelerate the car if you launched at a higher rpm, it took practice but you eventually got the 60 ft times down without letting the front tires get more than 6" off the track for a dozen yards or so

7 & 8 Second ET cars.
 
You don't make 8-second runs in 1/4 launching at under 2,000 rpms.
 
Those guys are Excellent drivers.
Steering the car with front wheels off the ground.
Using the Gas pedal alone.
PEDALING IT.
 
Pro Touring you don't do Notta.
Look at Digital Corvette.

I've seen guys "pedal driving" all the way down the track at the very least a couple hundred ft. These guys couldn't keep the wheelies long at all and weren't pedal driving as it's known to be done. They lost control immediately each time on the verge of disaster.
 
The Rear Tire Rolling Circumfrace must be Checked Richard.
Wrap a Tape measure around with tires dismounted from the car.
Do the same dirt track racing.
Old Top secret tricks I know of to exact or stagger if desired.
 
Also I specific picked tbis You Tube Video because there is A C3 Corvette doing Wheelstands.
As You can see its Not Pro Touring.
Its Drag Racing.
He is not on Digital Corvette For a Reason I am sure.
No Drag Racing taking place there.
Nothing going on.
Just DC Newsroom only.
 
if your not in control of the car and where its headed,
if you can,t instantly control ,
steer and if required brake or slow or when required,
too keep the car from being damaged,
your not driving
your simply in the car ,
and maybe controlling,
the engine rpms and gear changes
if your driving the car, in a drag race,
it stays in the lane it started in,
goes where its intended and finishes the run undamaged.
I would just assume sane people don,t risk seriously damaging tens of thou$and$ of dollars in race car parts to impress a few people that they don,t even know or care about!

Brian, why do you beat a dead horse over some people on a forum? There's what, over a million Corvettes out there and just a couple dozen regulars on DC. Just because someone owns a vette doesn't mean they ever heard of DC forum and if some have it might have been just in passing from an Internet search for repair information they needed and never bothered again.
The National Corvette Museum says that over 30% of all Corvettes on the road today are owned by women, where are they? Not on DC. So I'd bet that there is a lot more men that wouldn't be caught dead wasting their time on a Vette forum. I can tell you this fact, to this very day I never once met anyone that knew about any Corvette forum. I always ask people I meet in the car world if they are on this or that forum and they either say no or they don't know what I'm referring too.
You're really not doing yourself any favors lumping all Corvette owners into negative ideas and associations with a few idiots hanging out on DC.
 
I have met 4 Corvette owners in person from Forums Richard.
Latest was Matt in Missouri .
 
Only real way to retain them is RACING.
ROAD RACE OR DRAG RACE.
 
Its Obvious the Older Corvette Guys 57 + can't race anymore .
Bam stole thier Money $$$$$&&$.
