Hi,
I would very much appreciate anyone's help on what to do...

My mom passed last January. I got her C4 1992 Teal Corvette. My mom was the second owner, I the third, but same family. We had the same people (family friends) do the repairs always since she owned it.
In 2005, there were problems with the computer. It had to be replaced. The Auto Repair shop changed out the computer, but the odometer was never set to the "actual mileage". However, the Auto Repair shop wrote a letter documenting the mileage at the time of the transfer. It was changed at #76,854. Now the odo reads 19,656. I found a car that I wanted to trade it in for and made the deal with the dealer. When they received the car, they said it was a TMU - Total Mileage Unknown. This supposedly seriously affects the value of the car, whereby they only want to give me about 1/3 of the previous amount.
I have all the paperwork. I was floored to have them come back and tell me this. I called a Chevy dealer local that told me it could be fixed.
I am respectfully asking anyone if they know HOW to fix this? Although I cried giving my mom's vette away to a dealer. I knew she would be happy for me getting a newer car.

Please help? Thanks so much, Lisa :?

the dealer basically scammed, you as he can, and probably will reset the odometer easily as can ANY decent odometer repair shop, if you've already traded the car in its too late, if not have a odometer repair shop correct the odometer
PERSONALLY Id get the odometer reset to the correct mileage and sell the car privately as dealers tend to scam every customer they can and lo-ball your cars value

know what your cars worth , an average 92 vette goes for about $8K now

use this site to get some realistic idea to the cars current value
