So I been into Audi's but that dont mean I havent driven and built some mean mean muscle in my day. I also drove a vet that would melt your mind. But What does an Audi have that American cars still dont have. Tyco connectors.
Tyco AMP connectors are water and dustproof. I always pressure washed my audi took the plug coils off shook em off shot em with grease and plugged them back in and let the car idle. I wouldnt dare do that on an american car. Open wire lugs boots that let water in but not out... Even worse weatherpack connectors. But the TYCO is a real PITA. The tyco's are great for connecting and staying put but removing one often leads to hurt fingers or a broken clip and de-pinning them sucks!
What to do? NASCAR!
They have been using a great connector for years. it is called DEUTSCH. I am guessing its german. but the connectors cost as much as a TYCO 48$ for a 12 pin! Most cars will nee an 8 pin for 4 cylinders or 2 8's for a v8 just for injection. Thats 96$ Screw that.... But they are superior for water infiltration ( Down to 3 FT! ) They are solid not rolled pins... But man 4 of them would break an arm...
Where are these made... Mostly in China... So if my hard earned money is going to china... I am just going to buy direct. Aliexpress or Alibaba has Escrow ( Reputable. ) If the dealer does not have Escrow find another. It works like Ebay but they will refund you if the goods dont show or you have evidence the goods were defective. ( I got 60$) back on my tig welder!! 1500$ on amazon 400$ there... So if you are wiring I suggest a Deutsch but dont pay more than 4$ fir them. I bought 3 of them for 6$ and I will post up a photo when they come.
( Sidenote: Still waiting for my parts... Must be making them out of pure Kryptanium by hand with chisles. [ I know they are doing exceprional work just FYI. ] Photos when the stuff comes)
