"I have decided to go ahead and replace the cam when I change the lifters in this engine. It has head casting numbers 3998993. This is all I really know. What options do I have with those heads? What is the max size cam? Also, right now the motor has a 2-barrel Rochester carb on it. Should I go ahead and swap intakes and carbs while doing the camshaft & lifters (expensive, would like to wait while)? Thanks for the input."

The engine is a stock engine from a 1973 chevy C10, with stock intake and Rochester 2 jet. It's my friends motor, and it's a 4-bolt main, and all he really wants to do for right now is replace cam and lifters and springs.
