Other BB & RB Wedge Mopar combos.
Has lots of 383's current & a few 440's.
Small Block Chrysler LA 360series Strokers interesting also to examine always.

theres several threads with listed links already posted that might help
when I first got interested in cars and engines its was mostly working on Pontiac and MOPAR, and I sure wish I'd kept the couple of 392 hemi's I had acquired back then!

Thanks Grumpy.
Lots of Reading & Links to check out.
Bob has been A Mopar guy his entire life.
Except for a 1966 GTO coupe he had 25 years ago.
Blew the 389. Installed a 428. Stock 067 Cam.
Ram Air 3 #48 heads. Tripower with progressive mechanical linkage.
Put a builtTurbo 400 in.
3.73 posi.
It was a Strong runner. Fast.
Tires bought weekly.
One car he misses still.

It would be Fun to drop a 331, 354, or a 392 Hemi into a C4 Corvette Grumpy.
Something I would do given the chance.
I Like the Indy car Twin Turbo layout on the 392.
Bad Azz.

ive wanted to build a nick arias chevy hemi powered gasser, maybe an old ford shoe box with a 454lsx block and the hemi heads, with the front timing cover to run the small block ford distributors and a carb intake with a good strong lenco trans behind it...

What besides displacement is the difference between the 426 and the 392 Hemi? There is a little country auction near me next weekend and there's a Desoto truck with a rather large pump for field irrigation - that's what part I'm interested in getting, it still runs (it's a farm vehicle). It will go cheap because of the auctioneer doesn't care what he has.

they are TOTALLY different engines, the fast way to tell the early hemi, is the location of the distributor
early hemis had it vertical in the rear of the engine block, and a very distinctive block.
I wish Id saved or not sold off several 392 hemis I had when I was younger, but at the time they were very easy to come by from salvage yards, and I also had several 396-427 big block chevy engines and 389, 400, 421 and 428 pontiacs
be aware THaT many pumps ETC, used industrial EARLY hemi engines of 331-354 displacement

later versions of the 354 and 392 had a removable bell housing design, making them much better suited as car engines

later 426 hemi engines had the distributor in front and leaning towards the pass side cylinder head, and a block similar to the 440 wedge engine

the 426 hemi block (BELOW)looks nothing like the 392 hemi block (ABOVE)

I want an early Hemi Grumpy.
Settle for a 331 or 354.
392 Ok too .
Just a Neat & Legendary engine.
VERTEX OAC MAGNETO Of Course to Light it off.

Somewhere is Malcomn McKellers 1959 389 DOHC. It actually ran.
Around 700 HP.
Stock 389 block was used.
