498 BBC 4.25 stroke .070 over.
781 heads bigger valves mild porting.
18cc domed pistons 10.2 compression?
airgap intake 750 Holley

The car is a 65 Biscayne 5 speed 3.31 gear. It is close to 4000 lbs. I am looking for a street car with a cam that has lots of low end torque and for the party to be over at 5700 RPM.
I have a like new set of used comp solid roller rockers and would like to reuse if possible. Comp cam picked me out a 11-770-8
236/242@.050 639/646 110 with a rpm range of 1800-5800. Would you reccomend something else?
Thanks

without knowing your valve train clearances and spring load rates, its difficult to make a recommendation, but that comp cam seems to about correct for your application, but ID NEVER take a SINGLE cam manufacturers suggestion as the last word,
now obviously youll make more PEAK hp/tq with a slightly larger cam, and kill some low rpm torque in the process ,but if it was my car Id be looking at something in the 240-245 duration range on a 112 LSA and .600-630 lift for street use,to kill off some low rpm tq and help reduce detonation tendency with poor fuel, and reduce the stress on the valve train, it might not produce as much low rpm torque but Id doubt that will be a problem on a street car.
keep in mind its in your prime interest, to have a low stress valve train, for long term durability and not breaking parts and having a dependable engine combo, that requires a rather gentle cam lobe design, and moderate lift

BTW with that much potential TORQUE I hope youve put some thought into swapping to a built up rear suspension and possibly a 12 bolt with aftermarket axles at a MINIMUM, and a FORD 9" or DANA 60 would be a far better option as the axles don,t come sliding out if they shear like they will in a stock 12 bolt

Grumpy,
I decided to use the Solid roller again on my shelf and get it dyno'd. It is an 11-692 comp. I have a back up 496 that will have flat top pistons and cast iron closed chambered heads. I'll be looking for a more driveable cam for that block. I'm thinking a 60204 voodoo Hydraulic flat tappet
