Here is the combo.....I have a 3500lb 61 ragtop Impala with a 383/700r4 combo with 3.89 gears and a 27 inch tall tire in the back.

Here is the problem....I want (and have been told I will have no issues doing it) to shred the Sh@t out of my tires both from a stand still and from a roll, and it doesnt!! It pulls hard and spins em in first but thats it. as well when it does spin the tires it is not a smoke show...

Here is the combo specs....

My current WOT upshifts are at 5000 any idea as to where they should be? I have been using the B+M weights and springs to try and set up the shifts. I would asume they might need to be at about 6000, if so should i use the springs to fine tume now or keep trying the weights?

Sorry for the info and question overload I just wanted to get all the info you might need the first time around.

Yhanx in advance

looking at the combo Id suggest

the following low cost changes

a 2" 4 hole carb spacer under the carb, (notice your tq curve suggests it pretty much maxs at about the 4500-5000rpm range) this might help.

and richening the air/fuel mix to closer to 13:1 as the tq should improve as your slightly lean, swapping too a single plane intake might give better PEAK hp but not better AVERAGE hp in the rpm range you can use

checking the ignition advance curve to see if its all in at about 3000rpm and at about 36-37 degrees TOTAL,(play with it once your sure the TDC is correct) verify the TDC and damper are correct, and the cam is degreed in correctly, not just dot-to-dot install and hope its correct!!@

if your willing to spend more... full length headers should help, and if you don,t already have it an H or X pipe on a 3" full exhaust, ID at lest check the back pressure durring a run and make sure it never exceeded 1.5 psi as anything more is a significant restriction to power

and I might have missed it but whats the converter stall?? youll want a 3000rpm-3500rpm stall to maximize the launch tq and power curve to the drive train, a stock converter will hold this combo back
