if your going to build a STREET engine from scratch to use a mini-supercharger on , it will be best to get the compression in the 8:1 range and the cam and gearing set up for the intended power range, personally ID strongly suggest a 383 -406 as its basically almost a free extra 40-60hp over the same engine built as a 350, with a small supercharger.
youll need to give me a rough idea as to budget, and if the cam will be a roller or flat tappet, but with a well thought thru combo you can get both a street friendly and responsive combo.
WHATS THE BUDGET?
WOULD YOU RATHER DO THE WORK YOURSELF OR GET A CUSTOM CRATE ENGINE?
theres not much sense in getting heads with ports larger than 200cc or a cam with more than about 228-230 duration simply because by the time your starting to build impressive power those parts would have the mini blower is running out of flow potential, so youll be well advised to maximize the parts selection for the 2500-5800rpm torque band as thats all the mini supercharger can supply effectively, for the same reason a solid lifter cams not necessary

will get you well into the build, obviously youll want rear gears that keep you in that 2500rpm-5800rpm band like a 3.36-3.73:1 and a manual trans or 2400rpn-2800rpm stall converter
