THREE,short story,s
a buddy has always had a small fire extinguisher in a bracket attached to his pass side roll cage, a few weeks ago while adjusting jets he somehow managed to start a small engine compartment fire, he darts for the extinguisher and aims and pulls the lever........NOTHING, NOT a PUFF the damn thing won,t work, now theres not much more frustrating than watching your mega thousand dollar car burn to the ground....luckily the guys near by rushed over and dumped a 100 qt cooler full of ice, and cold drinks and beer on the fire, putting it out, but not before hundreds of dollars in damages, was done, and he ruined a few parts!
so if you go to the track carry at least one GOOD large fire extinguisher and lots of soft drinks in a LARGE cooler, two extinguishers are even better

NEXT

another friend has a 66 chevelle,on a recent trip to the track he drove the car and before even reaching the track an axle snapped as he was screwing around doing launches and he flipped the car when it made a sudden unexpected sharp turn into a guard rail , he got out, forgetting to turn off the engine, being rather shaken, and only then noticed fuel and coolant leaking and within minutes the car was burning, he had to watch it burn with no extinguisher handy.

NEXT
we all make stupid mistakes, one of my friends, .... cleaned up spilled oil with a rag soaked in gas, then thru the rag in the trash can, over two hours later he was welding on some parts and the trash can ignited from a spark, luckily it was a metal trash can and he simply placed the lid on it to extinguish what could have been a huge problem in a plastic trash can, because he had no easy access to a fire extinguisher.

do yourself a HUGE FAVOR and get a QUALITY METAL TRASH CAN WITH A LID, as they are far more likely to survive stupid mistakes like flammable trash catching on fire, and have at least two good fire extinguishers as you WILL eventually have a fire from some cause

once you et faster than 11.5 seconds most tracks require a minimum of a fire resistant long sleeve jacket and most tracks require a rated helmet at anything faster than 13 seconds
