After looking over the limited info available,
on the new C8 mid engine corvette its very likely that any clutch replacement,
or serious engine repair work, will require,\]
The Engine & Transmission will have to be dropped out as a complete unit bolted to the Aluminum Cradle shown in the CAD Drawings.
Thats hardly unique, Really not much different than many of the newer Minivan FWD or AWD drive train repair work, . but because the new corvette lists for north of $100K,
the dealership is sure to charge multi-thousands of dollars for a clutch replacement on the new mid engine corvette.
they already charge what I consider exorbitant prices for all the corvette repair work....they are convinced that if you can afford to buy a corvette, youve got bottomless pockets full of cash.
one more in a nearly endless list of reasons anyone purchasing a new corvette
or even thinking about purchasing a new corvette,
needs to buy a matching set of shop manuals and own a garage with a lift.
personally I've never understood the reluctance of most people to learn the skills,
or acquire the tools and reference materials required,
to do their own work on their corvette,
vs handing buckets of cash to what in many cases is someone working for a dealership,
that is learning their new car repair skills on your new car!
even if the shop manuals and a soft ware access program costs about $800,
your certain to save way more than that in the long term,
doing as much of the work as your comfortable doing.
(and the more you gain experience, skills and connections with other owners of similar cars,
and acquire specific related tools the easier and less intimidating the work tends to be.)
