IF YOUVE GOT A GARAGE ITS A GOOD IDEA TO INSTALL MOTION SENSOR LIGHTS
I installed 10 evenly spaced dual lamp motion sensor lights on the walls at a 10ft height with dual 150 watt bulb flood lights, thats two on each end wall and 3 on each long wall evenly spaced, this provides a good deal extra light

at least in theory these bulbs provide more light at about 18% of the electrical cost of conventional incandescent bulbs and last 10 times longer

now most guys install them outside, but installing at least one inside the garage makes sence because there will be times you want to walk in and out quickly and having a light that turns itself ON AND OFF by itself, thats usually a good asset to the garage

"Motion detectors are a convenient and efficient source for outdoor security lighting. Most units are pre-wired and pre-assembled for easier installation. The simplest way to install a motion detector is to replace an existing light with a motion detector light. Having a motion detector included with your light fixture allows the fixture to work automatically. If an object moves, the motion detector switches the light on, and automatically turns the light off after a preset period of time. The light will stay on as long as motion is detected. Lowe's is happy to provide this information as a service to you. "

THESE solar powered led flood lights ARE AN OPTION

LED's dont draw power like incandescent or halogen bulbs, so 6v on-board rechargeable battery should be plenty for 12 hrs of brief on and off periods
