This happened after my original gasket matched ported crossfire intake was ported again, but this time the egr passage was grinded off. At that time I was one of the original purchasers of the renegade intake, been so long now.. when I finally got the renegade it was the same problem. I took the car to a different mechanic and he did some witchcraft to the timing and the glowing headers stopped. The car would idle and drive fine under light load but would backfire like crazy and has no power. I checked codes and I would get a "No distributor reference " code. I replaced the pigtail for the distributor harness, same problem. I left the car alone because I always thought my problem was now tune related. Finally, I found a dynamic efi ecm with harness (my harness served as a buffet recently for some bastard rats in my garage...) Now I cant find a REAL TUNER that doesn't only tune newer ls vehicles. I'm decided I want to bring my high school sweet heart back to its former glory. I've owned her since 2000. Any suggestions gentlemen?
