Are these E3 spark plugs the real deal or just a gimmick?

"I have tested them several times on the dyno-- NO GAIN,s SOMETIMES A LOSS of 5 horsepower. Do not waste your money
thats what I see posted from several dyno tests by operators I trust, Ive also personally seen no measurable changes , so I think thats a very valid course of action

keep in mind when you see tests in magazines that a skilled dyno operator could make a minor adjustment to the dyno calibration and prove putting a ham sandwich in the glove compartment was good for 3-4 hp gains

JOE SHERMAN RACING ENGINES "

now these guys are creatable, and in my testing Ive noticed the same thing, NO GAINS , sometimes it seems like Ive lost a bit

BTW, IVE also tested the PLATINUM 4 plugs, no Ive never seen any gains but at least with those Ive yet to see any loss in power either

Re: Are these E3 spark plugs the real deal or just a gimmick

The only plugs I ever saw a back to back gain on were the old GM AC Delco Rapid Fire plugs, on a stock 350 TPI with 80k miles running the standard Ac/Autolite and NGK's back to back were within 2 h.p.+- of each other. The Rapid Fires actually showed a peak gain of 6 h.p. and an average over the rpm band of 4 h.p. They didn't cost as much as some of the gimmick plugs and actually felt more responsive and showed a slight gain ion mpg. Certainly a mild improvement but over 50k miles at least paid for themselves.
