Ran 78-84 jets with 37 degrees -1 degree per psi.   I ran 11.8 at 120.  The plugs looked a bit lean tho.

Moved to 78-86 with same timing and got 11.8 at 116.    Wow!   Plugs are still whiteish but look better.  The wideband O2 says I'm on 12:2:1.   I am thinking of going more aggressive on timing or a shade cooler in the plugs.

REM: my compression is 8.2:1 and I'm running water methanol on 10 psi max.

Hmmmm.  The belt was slipping the second time tho.  Hmmmm.

How much did the temperature change between the two runs??? Could be part of the difference.

Are you shutting the motor off as you clear the traps to read the plugs? If you are driving back to the pits, this might change the color. Different circuit used in the carburetor.

Then it comes down to stopping the belt from slipping before you can tell much about the tune.

Good luck, keep us up to date!

Well. That aint gonna happen. It got slightly munched. It jumped a couple of ribs, rubbed against the alt belt and lost a couple of ribs in doing so.

I'll do another run down the track and listen for squealing.

Sounds like its a great idea to have replacement belt on hand.

Turns out it was the alt belt. I probably will race one last time in Sept.

So far the best run was !!.83 at 120MPH
