I have got to wonder a good deal about the changes in this muscle car and engine modification based hobby.
back in the later 1960s-2000 or so it was very common for guys to pool their knowledge,
tool use, skills and effort , or swap the time and skills for others time and skills in exchange for helping others with their projects,
to get what you might need accomplished, I.E. you might be good at brake jobs, electrical or engine mods,
while some other guys are good at upholstery ,differential gear changes, or body work.
the result generally was that as you helped each other on car builds, both parties gained skills experience and access to contacts,
suppliers and personal skills tended to increase as you and they both gained experience.
I don,t see a great deal of that, exchange of skills and work sharing, going on regularly today?
now admittedly the newer cars are not as easy to work on and many of today,s generation seem permanently attached to an I-phone or computer game,
but the potential to help others and get help on your project does still exist.
prices on some project cars are very reasonable in a few cases,
so be aware that you may, deeply regret not purchasing something like a c4 corvette now as a project car,
while they are still fairly inexpensive, remember you at one time could have purchased older muscle cars far cheaper than you can now.
how many guys have taken the time to help someone else on their car or have a friend or two help work on their car?
yeah! your very likely to have too put out more than you get at times and some guy's,
will promise too help and find endless excuses,
to never show up to help you on your car...
its a learning experience, and
you'll eventually find the true friends vs the leaches ,
but in the process you'll gain a few new skills and contacts.
