Hey all, the Tangerine Tornado is going racing this weekend

The one who is closest to guessing my best ET and MPH, gets a box of belgian chocolates.

- 400 SBC
- AFR 210 Eliminator heads
- Mild roller blower cam
- D1-SC procharger 9 PSI
- Water-meth injection
- THM200-4R. D5 converter
- 3.42 rear
- Lockright locker
- 325-50/R15 drag radials

Tip: I suck at launch. Never got it under 1.9 on the 60'

Re: Box o' chocolate time...

Oh my god, its a hard one for me. Am not really into drag racing but i really want that belgian chocolates so am gonna give it a try :D
lets randomly say around 11.6s for quarter miles at about 123 mph.

Re: Box o' chocolate time...

Ok, I'm going with 11.97 @ 119 mph. Shall I just go ahead and PM my address to you. You know the others on this forum are abit slow and don't have a clue!

Re: Box o' chocolate time...

lol, i will stand behing my numbers :)
Almost said 11.8 but i went for 11.6 because i have no clue how much that car weight(i went for about 3800 pounds but maby its more close to 4200).
I know my MPH prediction is a bit high, but thats if there is some wheelspin/bad launch.

Don't tell Dorian, but I wanted to say 12.50s. I just couldn't hurt his feelings!

Re: Box o' chocolate time...

11.70 at 114 mph
the car should easily be able to do this if everything functions correctly and you get the driving style required down with practice

Re: Box o' chocolate time...

Update - car is 3800# Driver 200#

Indy - VERY possible I get that 12.50. For some reason, I always run much slower than I expect.

You will do better than that, I was just giving you a hard time! ;)

Our guesses will be close. 12.3 is without hooking/drag radials i guess so.

Wow, on Chevytalk I made the same offer - 160 views and NO one thew a hat in yet.

I am... But it could have gone faster. The alt crapped out and a flat batt spelled end of race for me. She can do better tho!!!! Back in my low buck tent now. About to zzzz

Sweet !
Grumpy was real close, wonder how he do that... :)

45 years of experience building engines and racing MIGHT be a factor???

BTW DORIANL,
theres no reason to spend the time and effort to send chocolates, Im fat enough already, but if YOU or ANYONE ELSE wants to donate a few buck$ to off set the cost of running the site I would appreciate it

Yeah am seeing that.
How do you think my 3500 pound camaro would run with slick with about 470hp and 506 ft/lbs ? 26 inch tire 3.5 gear, driver is about 135 pound.
So i know what to expect if ever am going at a track :)
Am expecting around 11.5
