Any high stall converter is best matched to a car with a new trans fluid cooler ,added to the cars transmission cooling capacity to remove the potentially higher heat generated, as heat is going to be a bit higher,with a performance converter,components need time to lap in and work out minor differences in clearances,obviously the linkage needs to be adjusted correctly and the fluid levels correct,and the transmission to drive line angles and mounts should have been checked,BEFORE trying to drive the car but if you drive it for a hour or so and WATCH the heat levels, and they stay reasonable (under 200F, ideally stable at 170F-180F))you should be good to go.every trans shop Ive ever dealt with suggested taking it easy for about 15-30 minutes then drive it like you normally would!
