CRANKSHAFT SCRAPER INSTALLATION
Crankshaft scraper must be test fit by bolting it onto pan rail of Block. Crank weights, rods, and rod bolts must have a minimum clearance of .060'' from the scraper. The scraper must be trimmed if the clearance is less than .060''. Using a gasket forming type sealant, ( 3M weatherstrip adhesive, silicone, etc.)glue and secure scraper with bolts to the pan rail of the ENGINE BLOCK and allow to dry completely . When sealant/glue is dry remove bolts and install oil pan and gaskets as they would normally be installed.
crank scrappers are best used combined with a WINDAGE SCREEN
and a high capacity baffled oil pan

the idea is to prevent oil from being swept around with the crank, a crank scrapper tends to strip oil dragged with the rotating crank, off and force it back intto the oil pan sump
