Custom external wastegate setup for a Turbo L28ET 280Z

Here is what I have came up with. since I went to a larger turbo, I decided to run a tial external wastegate. There are no provisions to do this from the factory. Here is what I have came up with.
I cut a 2" hole in the bottom of my exhaust manifold with a metal hole saw. Remember.. measure 50 times.. cut once.. you only get 1 shot!!

The manifold is cast steel and the bends I used are sch. 40 steel. I preheated the manifold a good bit and I had a friend who is more experienced do the welding on this piece. We used my millermatic 135 at 110amps and .30 wire. It looks like it is going to work out nicely. I hope to finish up the wastgate dump this weekend. I will post more pics when done.

IM amazed! I see lots of this type work but very few projects look this well thought out or have the custom parts as well fabricted

Very nice Wigen,
It would appear to me there is a SteamFitter somewhere in this equation.
I was a Fitter/Welder (Local 250 L.A.) before I hired out for the R.R.
Any way, the 280 looks like its coming along great. :)
