reliable source of info
Yeah, I know Barry Grant is not in the carb bizz anymore, and even though their website is still there, the info available is limited. The website promises that the Demon Carb will be back though!!!

I bought a pair of Mighty Demon BC 650's (blower carbs) on ebay, they had been on an 8/71 blown BBC, and the seller was looking to upgrade to bigger carbs. I figgured these would be good for my 6/71 blown Olds 425. I'm lookin' for about 600 - 700 hp on pump gas with a mild boost, 5 to 7 psi on 8:1 pistons, street legal but raced at the track, 10.90's is a good class to run in at our track.

Bought one of those "Demon Carb" books by Ray Bohacz, it's a bit dated, doesn't mention the "Mighty Demon", but is full of a lot of info. I was able to find a "mighty demon" owners guide at the old BG site and download it. Still, trying to figure out what carb in the Bohacz book comes closest, I figure the Race Demon must be pretty close.

Haven't found any other websites that get into use and tuning of the Mighty Demon carbs, if anyone knows of anything, I'd appreciate some links and go check 'em out....

Always learnin'

rick stopped by today with his 1970 big block corvette, he had purchased recently, its got a 750 cfm vacuum secondary demon carburetor , on the stock 4 barrel intake , and it was running like crap, I checked his timing and fuel pressure then noticed the accelerator pumps and squirters were not functional, so I adjusted the nut on the spring loaded lever that controls the plunger stroke and got zero change,so I removed the 4 idle adjustment screws each one at a time and used the straw on the spray nozzle to squirt cleaner into each needle seat under pressure then re set the needle air valves at out one turn, then squirted about 1/4 of the can into each float bowl thru the side sight port after temporarily removing the glass site plugs, then I removed the front squirter and sprayed carb clearer into that opening then replaced that squirted and reset the carbs front and rear float levels
then I power squirted the 4 front and four rear air bleed openings to remove varnish and crud.from the 4 boosters, the result was the car started running significantly better and the accelerator pump and boosters started flowing fuel correctly
