I went to the track trying for a 9 sec pass after concentrating on bracket racing all year. Went a best N/A pass of 10.53 first. With a very safe moderate tuneup, car ran nice and went a 9.69 at 137. Pretty happy with car just under 3800 lbs that is driven to the track with oval ports.

intake is a just a Weiand tunnel ram for carbs. It had enough material in it that it didn't even need injector bungs. My buddy just TIG welded the fuel rail hold-downs on it. The rails are standard Holley BBC rails for their other kits that I didn't need to do any work to. Most companies charge around 400-500 just to convert an intake to EFI, I have less than half that in this total cost. The throttle bodies are used Holley TBI units that I just removed the TBI pod from. They are actually designed better than almost any billet MPFI throttle body and they can be picked up cheap on ebay usually. THis is a port injection system, so the 2 throttle bodies only act as air valves. I use one TPS and one IAC on them and since it has a common plenum one IAC is fine.

The ECU is a Holley Commander 950. It could run a supercharger or turbocharger. I could install either on this setup, although I'd need a lot more injector. I'm running a wideband 02 sensor so tuning is simple.

The fuel pump is a Holley 12-920. It is on the edge to flow enough for 8 50 lb/hr injectors, but at 650 HP is fine. I'll have to see how it does with the nitrous. THe pump is mounted right off the fuel cell so it gets fed well.

If you can do some of your own machining and can shop around for used parts (good ones), you can do a setup like this reasonably, although it can still add up fast. There are many good ways to save money.
