(while the results were good Id suggest a few changes if i was building a similar engine( POSTED in green) A BIT MORE LIFT AND A BIT LESS EXHAUST DURATION WOULD USUALLY HELP INCREASE POWER IN MY ESTIMATION, AND pro-comp CONNECTING RODS ARE GENERALLY WEAKER THAN scat RODS
(scat 7/16" CONNECTING RODS) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sca-2 ... /overview/

THIS CAM I POSTED ABOVE,BUT HAVE IT CUSTOM GROUND ON A 106 LOBE CENTER-LINE

HERES A DIFFERENT 454 low cash big block build

BTW I GOT ASKED WHAT I USED IN a rather similar 468 cubic inch LOW COST BUILD for a buddies 1969 camaro, and keep in mind this was built mostly with existing parts from used engines, I be amazed if this engine cost more than 60% of what it cost to build the engine listed above, and remember this engines built with common parts and a flat tappet solid lifter cam not a roller cam like the engine posted above,
just because an engines (OLD SCHOOL) doesn,t mean it can,t be fun to drive, and an old school high compression solid lifter 468 big block in a camaro with a muncie and 4.11:1 rear gears can put a grin on your face
it was just a basic old school big block, in a 1969 camaro with a muncie trans and a 4.11:1 rear gear
starting with an older LS7 aftermarket over the counter short block bored .060 over size with new 11:1 compression pistons
a crane 131141 (the crane version of the chevy ZL1 3959180 flat tappet cam
we used ERSON roller rockers, and manley push rods, and MICKEY THOMPSON TALL CAST VALVE COVERS
AN EDELBROCK ALUMINUM WATER PUMP and a MODIFIED MOROSO OIL PAN

and a custom oil pan that held extra oil and we added an oil cooler,
keep in mind he had some of the parts on hand from a previous build so we used what we could and bought what we needed

and before someone else mentions it, yes he needed a fiberglass hood with a bit taller hood scoop to clear the air cleaner
