Engine Internals

Well I started my 383 today I bought the crankshaft went with a scat forged 3.75 stroke 350 main internal balance for the 6" rods. Now Im trying to decide on the rods. Scat makes both I beam & H beam with 7/16 cap screws but they dont say which gives more cam clearance I want to run a roller cam but I dont know if im gonna need a small base circle cam for a 383 setup. Next after that is the piston Wiseco or KB the wiseco comes with the rings but the keith black is cheaper so I can do the total seal rings. I need the big D Dish piston because I have the corvette aluminum heads 58cc.

I,D GO WITH THE WISECO PISTON AND RING PACKAGE DEAL, or ask SCAT if they have a rods and pistons, rings, bearings deal, designed for the crank with 7/16" rods
the last several sets of TOTAL SEAL RINGS IVE USED have given mixed results and no real benefits
talk to scat about THEIR suggestion on the rods, clearances ETC

Received my crank from Falcon yesterday Scat 3.75 forged and after looking at the Scat website I started thinking that it was a knockoff or copy yikes thats why its on sale for 509 with shipping included but it checks out ok maybe im a bit cynical Now im waiting on the rods I called scat and found that their forged i beam with 7/16 cap screws have more cam clearance than the h beam so thats what im getting along with the wiseco pistons Now my next puzzle is to figure out what i need to do to setup a gm factory roller cam in my old 84 vette block looks like lingefelter sells a cam button with a shim that goes where the cam snout is machined down maybe a little more machine shop work on the block?
