The cartridge shown is of the bottleneck 'rimless' variety, so called because neck diameter is smaller than the body diameter and the rim of the case is the same diameter as the base of the case itself. For interest, both Boxer and Berdan primers are shown, as is a separate Full Metal Jacket bullet. By way of comparison see the Soft tip bullet fitted in the complete cartridge shown below.
