Fuel line problem

I installed a OEM fuel pump on my 72 350. I needed to replace the rubber fuel line from the supply line to the pump (the push-on and clamped 3/8" hose , the steel line from the tank stops on the frame rail just above the pump location).
The problem: I cannot loop the rubber fuel line and connect it to the pump without having it kink at the bend no matter how easy I take the bend. Is the OEM hose pre-formed like a radiator hose? I didn't want to splice in an elbow and creat an ID downsize, or have a really long section of hose - What can I do about this bend?

Thanks for your help!

these threads, I linked to below might be rather useful, if your running into a fuel line routing issue on your c3 corvette.

Thats a fairly common issue with those corvettes especially if your mounting a new electric fuel pump and fuel filter near the tank, One thing Id advise is mount any electric fuel ump on rubber washers, as electric fuel pumps can be very noisy, and a well hidden but easily accessible fuel cut off switch that you can use as a potential way to make starting or moving your car under its own power, rather difficult, if you don,t have the required authorization, for increased theft resistance is not a bad idea. and place the fuel filter where its easily serviced but not easily exposed to damage from road trash.
(you might be amazed at how much trash a filter with a visible water separator removes from the fuel flow and how many odd tuning issues it prevents)

If you can,t think of a good solution, or want to fabricate mounts or mount brackets, Id suggest you bend a piece of stiff welding rod or similar material into the shape and size /length required and bring it to a GOOD local hydraulic hose fabrication supply shop with a sample of the thread sizes at both ends and have them custom fabricate a hose for you., they can fabricate something with either AN fittings or high pressure fuel line that won,t kink with swivel ends if required.
theres an easy solution , you just don,t know all your options.
theres 90 , 135 degree and 180 degree AN fittings, swivel connections, steel hydraulic hose, braided hose and a dozen other options

If your current fuel tank or fuel lines can,t keep up with the engines demands, can you remove the current plate and fittings and drill and soldier in a larger dual fuel fittings

Thanks Grumpy but I don't think we are on the same page here. This is a little over a foot of original fuel line I need to replace with something that won't kink in the bend (not even a hard bend). Do they sell braided 3/8" line that I can just clamp the ends on the pump and the feed from the tank?

Grumpy wants you to check out & read his links Rich.

Earl's brand of stainless braided hose & thier hose ends are my favorite.
All Earl's Fittings are 360 degree swivel design.
Perform exoctic routing not permissable with anything else.
100% safe on the street.
Racetrack too.
