As most of you know i recently moved to texa's, thus they require a texa's drivers license
in florida you walk into the dmv and after several hours of wasted time, a few tests etc. you walk out with a drivers license
thus I was rather amazed to find your required to make an appointment to get a texa's drivers license and don't allow walk-in applicants
I also found most appointments are made 2-3 months in advance, and they require a bucket load of documentation, birth certificates mortgage /land ownership documentation, tax numbers, SS cards. mirage license's, passports etc.

I lucked out and got a spot the next week when someone cancelled an appointment, I took that and it worked out after the third appointment, the first two attempts failed as I did not have certified recent original birth certificates for both of us, and original SS documentation the first two times (I thought bringing a last years tax form would be acceptable or a photo copy of my original birth certificates and marriage licenses and my current Florida drivers license, concealed carry license etc/

Went to get a REAL ID driver's license, all was good untill they wanted to copy my DD214.
Nope, no one has touched it since 1974 but me.
Said my VA ID wouldn't work, so I said adios to REAL ID, give me a regular DL. On a no fly list anyway and HS won't tell me why.

I thought it best to stay clear of Political comments. Most everyone hates the next guy over this and yet it still continues.
If this is a thread about getting a TX driver’s license and now Nancy whatshername is mentioned then it’s just spam.

I don’t push back, simply because my posts get deleted - and of course that just promotes more hate we don’t need.

Lets keep this site about vehicles and “guns” - hold the rest.
 
Pa wasn’t that bad for my real ID. Just needed the current DL, birth certificate, voter registration and a utility bill envelope addressed to me. I don’t understand what the big deal is with the DD214? I use mine so much for discounts it’s wore out.
 
In NC it's illegal to photocopy your DL. NC Law. It's still done by many bussiness. Motels / hotels mainly.
There is more info on a DD 214 that just everyone has no need to see. Especially a DMV officer.
Why wouldn't a VA I'd work? Honorable/ General discharge needed to acquire.
All State and Federal Agencies are, should share that info, like the NICS system does.
