Hey GRUMPY? I was over at one of our neighbors garages and he found a larger storage container with an old 4 bolt Chevy block and two small block Chevy and two big block chevy heads a box with at least 24 connecting rods with pistons and a couple cranks, all the stuff has some light surface rust but looks salvageable ..provided its worth the effort, how do I check out what I have , as he just said, "if you want this stuff take it!"

BOB, you can bring the stuff over, or this list of links on casting numbers should help

Ive had similar "GIFTS" and most of the time the stuff in storage because it was not all that valuable, but you could very easily find you have a real useful find!
remember a great deal of stuff that came from the early muscle cars was not considered of much value when it was removed but because over time much of that stuff was pitched in the dumpster, the restore guys are willing to pay big bucks for correct number parts for restorations.
for example those chrome air cleaners and distributor shields , intakes, distributors and multi carb intakes that many guys who owned those muscle cars took off and threw on countless garage shelfs is now worth huge cash money
