Now Ive read thousands of posted questions and answers but sometimes you just have to stop and ask yourself if the guy responding has a bad sense of humor,or hes deliberately trying to mislead some guy?

I was reading on a different site where
"a guy posted that he was having a problem with the stock stamped rockers not staying adjusted"
,if your getting slack in the valve train, and your rockers are constantly needing to be readjusted and the engines running like crap, chances are very good some things either rapidly wearing or coming loose, and a cam lobe or lifter is wearing or a pressed in rocker stud is working its way loose, from the head or theres a clearance issue in the valve train, that seems way more likely than the rocker nuts backing off , and you would think after the first few times you would start looking for a reason why things are not staying locked or adjusted?

now the first thing to come to my mind is NOT the rocker nuts backing off, but that could happen I guess and the cure is usually a set of new replacement nuts with threads that are not nearly as worn, like these which are cheap and easily purchased.

the first thing that comes to my mind is that the lifter or cam lobe is wearing,
the symptom could indicate the rocker adjustment nuts getting loose but it could also be the result of lifter and cam lobe wear issues that are causing the slack in the valve train.
the first step in diagnosing the problem is a quick visual inspection of the rockers and valve springs , put a strait edge like a yard stick across all the rocker studs to verify they are all at a similar height,Use a pointed punch and put a mark on each nut at 12 o'clock, on the rocker nuts if you suspect they are slowly backing off, causing the slack in the valve train,Drive it for a while then check to see if the punch marks are still at 12 o'clock.
I find so many guys ignore the obvious here and assume its the rocker nuts backing off when it can be and frequently is related to cam lobe or lifter wear or rocker studs pulling out, which gets ignored until its extremely obvious, wear or parts failure.
place a metal strait edge like a carpenters square on all the tips of the rocker studs, they should be very similar in height if you find ones significantly taller that may indicate a loose rocker stud.
if you look closely at the number of threads on the rocker studs sticking out above the rocker nut they should be very similar between the separate individual cylinders,on all the intakes and all the exhaust rockers, if you find one or more adjusted significantly lower yet the tips are the same height its frequently a good indication of cam/lifter lobe wear.

If you suspect the rocker adjustment nuts are slowly getting loose, after you get them correctly adjusted mark them all on the same location, with a nail punch so you can easily see if they have moved, like with the tiny blue dots I placed on the rocker nuts in this picture I posted ABOVE

the next bit of info I see posted is that the guy whos rockers are not staying adjusted has had several push rods bend
now it takes several hundred lbs of pressure over and above the typical 300-400 lbs valve spring pressure to bend even flimsy stock push rods so at this point you know your dealing with some clearance issue like the rocker slot binding on the rocker stud or the valve spring stacking in coil bind, or piston to valve interference issues.
but I was absolutely stunned by the posted advice, on that other site
"go to a local hardware and buy 16 fine thread 3/8" nuts and use two on each stud, double up the rocker adjustment nuts so the top one locks the lower in place so it can't back off"
It took several minutes to grasp the outright #$%^^& lack of understanding that answer indicates, thats like advice on curing a runny nose you get from a cold, or the flu, by super gluing your nose shut ,

ANYONE can post on most internet forums, sometimes answers are scary. I gotta try the super glue trick! ahahaha

wow skip all the possible things that could be causing it... forego the loctite and just lock her in with another nut... that same guy just keeps pouring stop leak in his radiator to get after a coolant leak, or keeps adding freon year after year to his a/c without thinking about fixing the real underlying cause of the leak.
