have you ever missed a shot due to a scope vs sights

I can only remember a very few times when having a scope on my hunting rifle vs iron sights became a dis-advantage,
the first time I was sneaking thru a scattered bunch of chest high, loose ferns , during a light rain, near a fast flowing creak and jumped some elk at about 30 feet, I stupidly had the cheap scope on 9X and they were behind trees before I could adjust or see thru the scope which was covered in fog.
the next time I jumped a mule deer at about 15 feet in sage, while sneaking across a ridge on a very windy day.
both instances taught me to be both more observant, and to move slower and look more, before moving and too pay more attention to my equipment and surroundings ,and to use lower power, and better quality scope on the lowest power setting while sneaking around,
how about you guys?

btw those see thru scope mounts don,t work real well, in my experience, they place the scope to high and make using the iron sights a p.i.t.a., over the years I found that using a top quality 2.5X or 2x7x scope , in steel weaver scope mounts & rings just works best

high quality scopes, (Leopold, Nikon, Zeiss, Steiner ) proper install procedures and the better quality scope mounts goes a long way toward reducing problems
you don,t need to buy the most expensive mounts or rings but a decent quality mount is critical.
IVE never yet had a properly installed weaver style base and rings fail, loc-tite on clean de-greased, and properly tightened, screw threads helps

The only time I can remember something along those lines is shooting at a boar hog with my scope 3 times and missing. The first shot was in excess of 100 yards with the distance increasing as I continued to shoot. having a lot of confidence in my shooting abilities it took those 3 shots to realize that something was amiss. At 300 yds the hog (tried) to hide behind a tree. Using my open sights I dropped him with one shot.

The problem with the scope was a screw under the scope mount that caused it to not hold zero. That problem has since been corrected.
