I am looking to buy a set of heads to put on my 01 Z06. I dont want to spend lots of $$ so what do y'all think would work well with this cam (its what I have in it) .288/ .232 .588/.574.

what IS your budget?
what do you intend to DO with the car?
what intake manifold and headers do you have?
what rear gear ratio and transmission are you using?
whats the car weight?, stall speed, on converter?
Will you use nitrous or a supercharger?

Hot Street car. Stock 3:42 gears and Z06 trans gearing,1st 2:97 2nd2.07 3rd 1:43 4th1:00 5th0.84 6th0.56
3115#, stock LS6 intake with CAI 170* T stat 30# SVO injectors TPSI 1.73" LT headers, high flow CATS.
Budget ?? I think AFRs are high Trick flow too I'm not going racing so max effort not here.
Looking for more than a ported LS6 head will deliver without having to buy a new cam that I think is good for me.
 
Ive used mostly TRICKFLOW, BRODIX and DART, and occasionally EDELBROCK HEADS
in most engine builds, because TRICKFLOW, BRODIX and DART heads have almost always shown the best quality of manufacture and attention to details in my opinion

Ok, since this was OPed I bought Livernois stage 3 heads because they flow with the big boys and are a lot cheaper. So with my little cam that was already in the motor .224 .230 .581 .572 30# SVO injectors CAI long tube headers thru Ti stock mufflers high flow CATS LS 6 Z06 stock 3:42 gears, I dynoed 430rwhp and 397 rwtq. I thought I'd be closer to 450 but thats what it is for now. The tune is on safe side.
As a side note you can follow @ CorvetteForum I broke a Yella Terra RR on the way back from Bowling Green Ky. Corvette Musem. It was on intake and they replaced the set and so far no ill effects from it. They had the same mileage as the heads and Prods 2700+.

I my do an intake TB upgrade but seems a lot of $$$ for a few more ponies. I think, @ going to be 62yrs old its fast enough as a cruiser thats still doing 26mpg on the hwy.
