Hello From Labrador

Welcome to the site. Loads of good info here. I had a 68 big block many moons ago. Not remotely as nice as your 69. It was kinda cobbled together with what was around, on a 21 year old kids budget. But what a blast to drive......... Nice to see someone here further north than me.

WHEN AND IF YOU WANT TO BUILD AN IMPRESSIVE bbc ENGINE
let me know

If anyone is interested I am looking for a trade of all the "Fancy" Underhood bling on my car for great condition OE parts. I'm willing to workout anything reasonable if you want to make an offer.
Great looking OE under the hood appeals to me much more than all that Billet, chrome and stainless.

Thanks Guys, this is a great site! The technical info is outstanding! That's a sweet '68 you have there chromebumpers! A friend of mine asked me today if I would consider changing from carburetor to EFI, such as the fast ez EFI system. Anybody try this? what are the pros and cons? I never considered this before and just checked out some info on the internet, there are several different systems out there. As I told him "injection is nice but I rather be blown"!!

conversion to throttle body style fuel injection

pros

better fuel economy
slightly better power in a few cases
less fuel/oil contamination
faster starts
lower emissions
slightly lower engine wear

Cons
initial cost
learning curve
complexity(some require lap top too tune)
requires different fuel pump(and lines, filter)
some require different fuel tank

equal (obviously depends on choices made)
peak power usually similar
room under hood similar

I would pay for shipping both ways. Is this a decent deal?

Self tune master kit
Nearly $3,000 plus a few hundred in supplemental parts.. Shop around for best pricing. It makes an old car drive like a brand new model and reliable just as well.
