hello

yes your far better off learning to think thru , carefully researching, and then taking your time ,fabricating custom parts where you can in any build than simply buying off the shelf components , your car may or may not be faster but you have something rather unique and you gain far more skills and have much more to be proud of than some guy who simply assembled out of the box, off the shelf parts

I can't quite figure out what some of the components are, since I can't
follow the connections to see where they go.

So how about it what are 1, 2 & 3 ???

These young whipper snappers, think they are so smart! :p

In my high school days we didn't have too many FM radios, much less a
high powered amp. But I did have an FM converter and an 8-track player.

Stepside,

Thanks for the follow-up. What's temp today?

its been 45-50 F today, been in the 40-50F range latelly in the day it get around 32 the night. Its when its about -30F that it get cold, sometime we get -60F with wind factor on some very cold winter day, at those temp you can feel its hard on a whole car, engine is harder to start and make noise like its gonna blow or its already broken(oil dont get up in the engine real quick at those temp and the rotating assembly is obviously tighter), trans dont shift until it warm a little steering gets hard soo much your try to keep going straight line because you feel like its gonna break something but it never do.. thats once the windshield/steering wheel/seat get a little warmer so you can drive(with thick gloves obviously)/and see something once the windshield start to unfreez on the inside so you see only trough a small spot around the dash area once the heater start to push some medium temp air... you still have to remove the snow on the car and break the ice on the outside of the windshield before you think about to star i always do that stuff with thin gloves and freeze my finger a little. Sometime you got the plow too so you can get out.

You should try that someday, its nice to go fire the wood furnace in the shop the morning when you just wake up and its -25F done that alot the past winter to work on the camaro, gotta wait for the tool and car to warm up because you will freeze your finger in no time touching it. You have to keep a 200watt bulb under the compressor head to keep them warm a little if your going to use it. its great when you dont have to do car repair in the cold sit or laid down in the snow/ice, i really enjoy having a warm/windless place to do my stuff.
Whem my uncle was living in florida and was comming for vacation it was funny to see him having cold at only 32F.
Also i never had a car with a hudge stereo, i got am/fm/cd and ipod (alpine) radio on the camaro but just using 6x9 on the rear and 4" in the front.
The truck has the stock am/fm/casette player radio.

your post brings back many memories, I was brought up as a kid in MAINE and MASS. but moved down to Florida with my parents in my teens , I went elk &/OR deer hunting in Wyoming and Colorado , OREGON, and NORTHER CALIFORNIA every year for four decades, temps at times got in the low -20F range and we sleep in tents so I was rather familiar with cold temps , if you really want a laugh watch the Florida residence walking around in flannel shirts and jackets when the temps hit the mid 40 Fs, well above freezing but you would think they were all about to die from hypothermia.

hi gearheads
The winter was long so I decided to do something new under the hood
I switched to the new cylinder heads, intake manifold and installed Megasquirt 2 efi + edis wasted spark ignition
the heads are afr 305 with cnc cambers intake is dart tunnelram+100mm front throttle body
ignition coils are from cadillac northstar and ignition module is ford edis
the cam shaft is still crane hr 244\256 110 lsa

now that's rather impressive!
especially the fact that its a mixed batch of manufacturers components being used and you had to modify and fabricate many of the parts.
just the fact your both skilled enough to do that and willing to try it puts you far ahead of most guys in skills and knowledge, in this hobby

I'm impressed !!!! Mixing all that together means you must have a damn
good understanding how each operates.

thanks! grumpy and indycars
the most fun in this hobby is to fabricating and mixing different car parts together
but it requires a lot of reading and searching

I welded some 3.5 "exhaust system, with four straight thru mufflers and x pipe
it's quiet and torque increased a lot.
fun to drive almost like a supercharged

the old exhaust system was 3 " x pipe, flow master afterburner mufflers and 3" tail pipes
Next, a new paint job and the adjustable front shocks
I've been busy recently, because I have four small children
but I'll try to do a paint job before the winter

if you have 4 small children its even MORE IMPRESSIVE ! Ive got 3 grand kids living with and supported by me ,and they take up 90% of my time and 95% of my cash, between what they need and running to the doctor when they get sick, or hurt (THEY TAKE TURNS)its nearly constant.
and of course if they catch any annoying cough , sore throat etc. they make sure to SHARE IT WITH ME wither I want it or not, and they get over it in days, its an easy week for me, once I catch the latest FLU or what ever they bring home to share!
