Hey all.

Hey everyone. I'm new to the site and new to the performance scene in general.
I've got a 76 Corvette that I'm fixing up in my spare time I have when not going to school or working.
Currently I have the engine out and all torn down for rebuilding (it sat for at least 3 years before I bought it, had some water damage in the cylinders),
and I've decided to add some more power while I have it in pieces. So, long story short I've been doing tons of research and came across this site and figured
there would be some who could help with my questions and concerns. I'll start a different thread in one of the other sections for my questions but I thought I'd introduce myself here first.

What kind of plans do you have for upgrading the engine???

This Excel spreadsheet might help with figuring out your machine
work costs and in what order you are going to do them.

Thanks Indy!
I think I'm done at the machine shop, it cost my just under $650. The build sequence sheet is great and will come in handy.
My plans are to make the engine a nice street-able engine with some solid power and focus on lower end torque. I posted detailed info and some of my concerns and questions in the Cam, Heads, Valvetrain section. If it's in the wrong place, I apologize, I thought it'd be the best place for my questions.

welcome to the site! interesting how corvette owners seem to gravitate to this place.

oh and nice car!

Thanks guys.

Grumpy, I've thought about side pipes, but I really love the idea of dual exhaust with quad tips on my car. That 74 is a good looking car though!
I got lucky in that my dad knows quite a bit about painting but when I do it I'll read through that link again so we can freshen his skills.

Yeah, that's odd philly. I have seen the section just for corvettes so that's pretty cool.

Well with Grumpy's known knowledge of vette's and engines in general I think you have come to the correct place!

Nice starting point, clean looking body, nice wheels, of course I am sorta partial to corvette rally wheels due to my nova having them also!
