Have any of you guys used or looked at Crower cams for small blocks? Their website lists 6 different families of flat tappet hydraulic cams (NOT including race cams) w/o saying how the lobe designs, etc. differ from each other.
They are:
Beast
CompuPro
Hauler
420 Series
Anyway, I was just curious to hear your comments and experiences with Crower. "

IVE USED MOSTLY CROWER , ERSON AND CRANE CAMS for at least 45 years, those brands give excellent results
youll rarely have problems in my experience if you stick to those three brands and FOLLOW instructions
check clearances and geometry.

some of my favorite SBC cams is a HYD roller 00471

and the 00426 is a good solid roller cam in matched build of course.

the flat tappet 00225s makes a good 383 street cam in a manual trans car with a 3.73-4.11 rear gear

If youve got a higher compression SBC with decent heads and want a solid flat tappet cam, the 00322 makes good hp

obviously youll want to talk to the tech guys before selecting a cam but the quality is good, just ask lots of questions and be sure what you order matches the application
