Hi from Sweden

I just found this forum, just the kind of forums I searched for a long time.
For the first time in a long time I found a place where I can learn a lot of new things.

First I would like to thank Grumpy for the work he has put into it.
I really like your approach to what is important such as reliability, research and the engine and for that matter the whole car is a system.

I am 51 years old live in northern Sweden.
And have had cars as a hobby for life.

I currently have a 1990 Corvette that I bought in 1997.
My intention was to just have it maximum of 5 years and then trade up to a newer one.
and not make any changes to it.

17 years later and some modifications
(Someone asked what I changed in the engine? my response:
The oil pan and timing cover is stock),
I've still own the same car.
It used to be my daily driven but in recent years it has become a summer car.
and for those who are wondering, does a Corvette work good in the winter.
The answer is yes. I tried it down to - 40 degrees and yes it is the same in Farenheit in Celsius.

Once again thank you for an excellent forum
Gunnar

Surely in 17 years you must have taken a few photos of your Vette. We
love pics around here, especially Engine Porn. Maybe a few pics of your
favorite project.

Need help with posting pics on Grumpy's forum ...... use the link below

Nice .....ok you have done yourself proud with photos! :)

How short is the racing season in Sweden?

yes WELCOME!
We are ALWAYS glad to have SERIOUS hot rod oriented members on the site that are not afraid to jump into a project and do whats required to complete it even knowing that it will usually require learning new skills and working on things your not yet familiar with, which is basically what this hobby's all about!

It is a relatively short race season usually from June to August here in northern Sweden.
It would be possible to run from May to September, but the past few years, the
interest in drag racing has declined, in 2008 was a record number of participants 250 +
at my local track. This year there were only about 80 participants.
Therefore, the number of competitions has declined to only 3-4 per year.
It Used to be 6-7 in my region.
