I’ll have to see one of these things. Just seems like with such a tall tire the foot print would be so small and the need for such a low ratio gear there are a lot of things working against you to get the performance needed for those times.
When You Run Boost you do not need such low gears.
The Flywheel torque often exceeds 900 -1500 Ft/lbs....some are near 4000 ft/lbs flywheel torque.
Normal aspirated with such big wheels its just like a Big Tire door slammer car with Huge Goodyear slicks.
Gears back in the day were 4.88 tall side.
More often they were 5.13, 5.38, 5.57, 5.86 & sometimes 6.14 :1 .
I never thought it would explode Wagon Wheels.
Next post will be from last night on Digital Corvette by me.
Offensive stuff I typical post there.
Everyone is Hardcore there like me.
I have alot of those 1960's & 1970's Complete Pontiac Olds 9.3's from original Gasser era race cars.
