how many guys have fabricated a custom rifle rest?
I was using a friends lead sled , rifle rest,at the range recently as an aid when sighting in my 378 wby , with a new scope and theres no question that its a useful tool that reduces recoil once you put a 25 lb bag of shot in the tray, but not being BUCK$ up I looked it over and its rather obvious that if you have a bit of fabrication skill and can measure accurately plus have access to some tools (mill, drill press, welder) that it is hardly out of the realm of possibility to fabricate something similar.
now not having a spare $180-$200 to spend on a recoil absorbing rifle rest but owning a mill, welder etc. that makes fabricating a similar tool possible I'm about to design and build one for my personal use, but the thought hit me that IM surely not the first guy to do this so if you have and can post pictures of the results I,d appreciate it, as theres a bunch of smart guys on the site and I,m sure improvements to the basic design are and have been thought of and made.
