DEPENDING ON THE BLOCK YOU SELECTED AND THE ROTATING ASSEMBLY OF COURSE, IT CAN BOLT IN WITH VERY MINOR CLEARANCES WORK, ITS A REAL NICE UPGRADE,its USUAL that theres some minor clearance on the block similar to building a 383 from a 350, but in most cases the amount of material to be removed is even LESS, Ive had similar kits bolt in that would physically rotate with out clearance work, but the clearances were REAL TIGHT, so it required a bit of die grinder work to get the necessary .060 clearance.
keep in mind different block casting numbers have different dimensions/clearances
you might want to get a STROKER clearanced oil pan
its FAR easier, and requires less clearance work in most cases to build a 489BBC from a 454BBC than a 383sbc from a 350 sbc
PROVIDED you use a complete matched balanced rotating assembly with the longer 6.385 rods
