Hello forum members and Grumpy.
I'm a newbie but approaching 62 years on the planet.
I've never owned or even driven a performance vehicle let alone a corvette. That changed recently when i acquired a 1991 c4 convertible.
At many junctures I've had a number of experiences and achievements that were over the top at least in my view. Hee hee. That doesn't mean I've been exceptionally successful in various endeavors but, so to speak, I've left my mark. So what the hey does that have to do with things on this forum? Ha!
Welp, the c4 is over the top by some measures. It's a 454 conversion with plenty of room for tinkering, upgrades and general messing around. So Mr. Grumpys site seems like the place the c4 and owner might fit in.
Unfortunately I'm not much of a mechanic and me bank account is quite slender. I'll figure things out as i go.
I actually haven't taken possession of the vehicle at this point but, it's paid for and the title is transferred to my name. The vehicle is located in a southern state. I haven't been able to locate a reasonable shipping price. We've had a somewhat tough winter up here near the Canadian border. I credit the poor shipping rates to the weather and road conditions. I'm gambling the rates will come down now that snow is melting off and its warming up.
In the meantime, I've been doing what i can while waiting and the seller has been kind in helping me proceed/progress in some manner.
Actually there are several unknowns with this c4 as the original builder passed away. However all indications are that the build is quite good.
A once nonexistent heater core is now in the car and plumbed to a electric water pump. Right now the big fat carburetor has been removed and a edelbrock proflo xt efi is being installed.
I'm planning on having the c4 here within the next 2 weeks.
That's my story and intro.
