Keyless entry

Hey all,

I am about to order a new air filtering element, stock replacement calipers (don't ask) and hoodpins.

I do so much serious stuff that I was considering a something fun and convenient: keyless entry.

I have already locked myself out at least twice.

Problem is there are 101 kits on summit. Prices are all over the place and the all look pretty much the same...

Any advice on selection and installation?

Why not have a alarm system that also protect the car? or maby i didnt understand the question correctly and thats what your looking for.
Thats what i have on my car(i dont know what model, i can say that the viper ones should be really good, am using a much cheaper unit), i removed the door lock selenoid for weight reduction(weak door hinge of my model) . Most system are fairly easy to install in many case if you have basic electronic knowledges..

I did the complete setup on my camaro and i have it so it disable the msd ignition, starter, fuel pump relay, it has a shock sensor and it monitor the ignition wires and door/hood/trunk pin switch. Thats what you want from most alarm system.

If your creative you can have RAP(retained accessory power) and nice option to make your car just like a computer controlled car you just need some relays/diode,.

If you have your electric fuel pump on a oil pressure switch you can have the fuel pump run only when1, the engine is cranking 2. there is oil pressure (thats a safety, so if your oil pump fail your engine stop because it dont have fuel instead to stop because the bearings are shot...)or 3 if you use a Constant to Momentary Output when your first turning the key for a few seconds(just like the newer computer controlled car do).

Usually you want to use BOSCH 30A relays and 1N4007 1A diode(used to power the "low current"relay coil in some case).

Wow! Didn't know you could do all that.

It's just a luxury item. When I take passengers, they ALWAYS forget to "push the button down."

Randy... that looks perfect. Do you guys ship APO?

I'll get something like it at cost, just PM me and I'll get your info and send it to you. Most stuff I've exported I've sent through the post office, fairly cheap but UPS/Fedex is faster.

I dont know if thats a law in your contry, but here we never lock the door, only when leaving the car.

I usually had good result with fedex for international orders.
Most of the time there is no brokage fee and often they dont stop at the border, if they do usually its fast and cheap.

Anybody seen Randy lately? Been trying to connect with him but seems he hasn't been online since May 9?????

That sounds out of character...

Don't know anymore that you do, but was it him that was moving into a new home and shop? He might be busy with that.
