the cpu on the 1985 corvette won,t be able to compensate quickly enough to prevent some potential problems on the earlier c4 l98 engine with a dry nitrous system, its baud transfer rate from the sensors is just too slow, at 160 baud. Id strongly suggest getting a wet spray bar mounted behind the throttle body, on a 1985 l98,
even the 1986-89 is marginal at best, you'll also find upgrading the size of the injectors with a nitrous system tends to help results, nitrous gets its power potential from the much higher oxygen content, that higher oxygen contend needs to be matched instantly with extra fuel or you'll run lean, a few seconds of running lean will get you into detonation, or burnt parts
NEVER RUN A DRY NITROUS SYSTEM ON A TPI ENGINE THE COMPUTER CAN<T SUPPLY THE CHANGE IN REQUIRED FUEL FLOW DEPENDABLY
Dry =your engines Injectors add fuel as the oxyegen sensors see the fuel ratio change
Wet = your Nitrous spray Nozzles add fuel in a fog, of fuel with the nitrous ,
WET SYSTEMS ALMOST ALWAYS WORK BETTER AND HAVE FEWER PARTS SELF DESTRUCT

"can injectors be installed in the intake runners?"
hell YES! in fact that's how many high hp systems are installed
you might want to look into this, it fits inside the air cleaner, if you've got a carburetor
