the vast majority of people just want to live a peaceful life without causing problems,
or getting involved in criminal activities,
and I doubt any would seek to cause problems with neighbors,but...
its generally smart to be aware of your surroundings ,
and be prepared for even the less likely but potentially criminal acts of others.
it may seem a bit like rural red neck thinking
(or typically AMERICAN RURAL WISDOM)
but I doubt you'll find many local homes that lack the ability,
of the homes owners to defend the home if forced to.
I don,t remember any adults when I was growing up,
that did not have at least a shotgun available in the home.
