"Grumpy,?
I had my small block rebuilt about 1800 miles ago.I seem to have a lifter that won't prime.I've adjusted my rockers a couple of times and can't seem to get it Any ideas on getting it done before I take it apart "

you could try changing to fresh 10W30 oil like SHELL, TEXICO, VALVOLINE OR MOBILE and adding a quart of MARVEL MYSTERY OIL, if its simply crud in the lifter the high detergent levels in the MMO with its high detergent levels should break it loose in 30 minutes run time, after the oil change, BUT with only 1800 miles it is more than likely either a defective lifter or a worn cam lobe, in either case Id pull the intake and inspect closely, it should only take a couple hours unless the cam needs replacement.... BTW check the rockers Ive seen defective rockers produce similar symptoms, check the rocker studs, a defective or loose rocker stud or a busted or cracked valve spring can also be the cause here?

BTW inspect the oil filter element closely looking for metallic debris, and indications of gasket and sealant trash clogging oil passages
