I have 454,.030 over,10.2cr, 4"stroke, a roller cam 222/229@.050 is (in.ex.)
with .544/.560 lift-110 lobe separation.
Heads are aluminum Bowtie oval port,290cfm,110cc chambers,2.19/1.88 valves.,
rockers are 1.7 .
Car is '69 El Camino,TH400,3.42 12 bolt rear running 28"(roughly)dia.15"rear tires.Current stall is 2000,but I have a feeling I'll need more,or go back to manual trans.Advice on a stall speed would be cool.
Looking around for an intake carb combo that will work with this engine.I feel 750-800cfm is about right, but there are "a million" of them out there. As far as intake, been really looking(and like) the Weiand Stealth.I'm open to any and all advice.

a higher stall converter would help, with that cam I,d suggest a 2600rpm stall,
your surely in dual plane intake rpm range
and a 750 cfm vacuum secondary would work

theres always a strong tendency to over do things and try to use parts more suited to racing,
you'll be much happier if you don,t go down that route,
yes a single plane intake will also work,
but you'll generally give up more low and mid rpm torque,
if you have the hood clearance (and that needs to be checked before you order parts,) Id go high rise, dual plane intake
and take the suggested components that match your application,
as they will provide brisk performance with decent reliability.
(be sure to verify how much hood clearance you have before ordering parts)
don,t forget youll need decent headers, if you expect the intake better cylinder heads, potentially increased flow rates, too add hp, and a low restriction exhaust are required,
too maximize intake flow and allow the engine to breath.
why not call and ask the tech guys at holley their opinion also
Id be looking for a vacuum secondary electric choke 750 cfm,
but a properly set up manual secondary carb would work.
if you have the hood clearance required, the high rise style dual plane intake like the one linked too above,
tends to add several hundred rpm over the stock intake,
and noticeably better torque over most of that operational rpm range

Look for a Holly 3110 as a starter carb. They seem to make for a good foundation and may be available on Craig’s list since too many people dismiss them for being vacuum secondary. Remember to match the power valve to the expected idle vacuum and invest in the serviceable vacuum secondary spring kit as it allows you to adjust the secondary diaphragm spring without much work at all.
I also agree that a dual plane is a great option for a driver and that BBC will be a stump puller with a dual plane but may need more RPM to start the torque curve with the open plenum (single plane).
