Looking for wire

I need some wire replacements like the Trans kick-down switch wire and other similar looking wires under the hood and for some lights. I'd like to get it by the spool but what is a general gage size? I know I'll need different colors too.

sensors generally get 12-14 ga anything that carries serious amps is probably 10 ga
and if its for a starter or alternator, or battery it is probably significantly heavier gauge, if your replacing a broken wire you can of course measure to find the old gauge size

most mechanics have a caliper or a wire gauge check tool.

HAVE A FEW DECENT TOOLS helps
having a central fuse panel and relay board helps
and labeling every relay helps,
having a common wire color code helps
of lets say what Ive used, of
red for 12 volt power constant hot,
orange for 12 volt ignition on hot only
and
pink for switch on control 12 volt
and
black for ground all the time
Green for GROUND on a SWITCH
helps (ALONG WITH LABELS ON EVERY WIRE)

label makers allow you to put label s LIKE INDIVIDUAL CIRCUITS

Grumpy, do you have insomnia too? LOL!
I'm getting stupid in my old age. I have two of those gauge wheels I got at Eastwood a few years ago, one is 3 ft. from me right now!

The other day I noticed a bare wire coming out of a 2 wire plug in the back of the alt. it was so thin I thought it was just one strand of wire out of a whole twist of wires. I took it apart to find the whole wire was just one very, very thin silver hard wire (positive charged).
I found that the kick-down from the Trans goes to a box behind the gas pedal but the entire wire is gone.
