Looks like that 572 slid in with very little issue. Had to change the brake vacuum to a smaller diameter and add a vacuum booster. Lost the wipers that kinda blows but don't drive in the rain if I can help it and will use some rain-x. Maybe I will figure a way to run them some other way since the vacuum canister that controls them was in the way and had to be removed. Running side-pipes and may have to add some sort of switch mechanism to have larger pipes run straight out the back to let her breath. Still not sure the L88 hood will allow air cleaner clearance so still toying with some ideas on how to get around that.

I have added a couple pic's from when it was first set in about 6 weeks ago and will update with some newer picks in a day or two. I am going to take a look at her today.

hello everyone so I recently got a 74 stingray 4spd manual with a 350 in her. I have a 427 (crate engine) which is new that I can put in it and I would like to now I am not super mechanically inclined but I do have all tools and engine lift required to pull the engine, so my questions are

1) would I be able to do this on my own by using books and youtube vids and whatever else I can find? (I have never done this before)

having done it dozens of times in the last 30 plus years I think the main thing you need is patience, and a will to succeed , its just not that difficult , I would advise you use a lakewood bell housing and a sfi flywheel, and clutch and verify your starter fits before you start, remove the hood and radiator before you start to reduce chances of damaging them, and having an engine tilter on the engine crane helps, and youll need to find an oil pan that fits the chassis and engine

2) what other parts am I going to have to swap out on the vette so that the new engine and the rest of the vette work together?

the correct headers, exhaust ,flywheel, throw out bearing clutch release arm (clutch fork) to fit the bell housing, MAYBE new motor mounts water pump possibly a new starter, a larger radiator accessory brackets belts, hoses, don,t forget the the pilot bearing in the crank recess

3) is there any other information I am going to need to know before I get started?
do your research, its not that hard the 1974 was the last year with a factory big block factory installed
4) and lastly should I just pay someone to do it and if that is the way how much do you think it would cost?

NO! if you have the parts it should be a weekend project at most, read thru these threads and take notes
