"GRUMPY?
I have a 1955 chevy belair pro-street.
it has a 496 with all good parts. the blower is a wieand 671 with 2 pro-systems
700 carbs s. Im going hydraulic rolle cam . I only drive this car on the street, no racing at all.
i found a chet herbert hydr roller cam: HERCB6P rpm range 2000-5500, int dur 270/278.
.50 217/226, lift 549/564, lobe center 112. $229.
what do you think cam guys?? heads are edelbrock performer rpm.
rpm will be in the range of 2000 to max of 5500. as this is only a street car.
more look than go. of course if i want to do a burn out, or a short burst i would like to have some power for that, but 98 % of the time it will be just cruising if i can get it to run cooler than it used to. the motor is being totally rebuilt AGAIN. the new carbs flooded the engine and hydraulically locked up. a couple cylinders, bent valves, etc. "

I think that even with a super charger and no racing a bit more duration and lift in the cam selected would help, even if your running stock heads, but even more if you have really good flowing heads, those edelbrock performer rpm heads will be fine.
something like the cam below but ground on a 114 LSA

heres a wild guess from the DD2000 software with that cam

Definatly need a 114 lsa for a street blown engine this will help lower the DCR to run high boost on pump gas. i think the duration are fine for a street bbc engine (or maby could use a tiny bit more)as for lift id use the max that the head/engine can use while keeping a safe valve to piston clearance.
