I know that CC290B6 Cam from the Pontiac world.I’m also thinking about buying the Edelbrock Amc Aluminum heads which have are 52 cc’s and would give me a nice bump in compression and take some weight off the nose of the car.
Thanks for the advice
Shawn
It's a good cam.
Drag Race.
Streetable.
It wants High static Compression ratio.
At least 11.25 :1.
12.0 - 13.0 :1 preferred. 110 motor Octane Race Gas.
Sunoco 110.
VP Leaded Race Fuel used. C10.
Full ignition advance.
Initial + Mechanical. No vacuum advance used.
Not a sissy Pro Tour Old man drive slow cam.
Made For Drag Race battle.
Pontiac V8 32-36 BTDC Total timing.
Want an ultra fast mechanical advance.
All in by 900-1100 Rpm.
Need lightweight advance springs to do that.
Or Vertex Mag if go that route. No springs used in Mags. Pendulum weights with precise ramps. Another topic.
Anyhow...no lazy pump gas cruise style advance.
Ultra fast advance required.
Can cruise also on streets.
3.90 diff gear works.
Depends how fast you want to go in 1/4.
Get to a point its near impossible to cruise on street unless you really do your homework.
