Grumpy,

I could hardly read your camshaft selection chart, so I thought you needed a new and improved one!!! I had hard time deciding what RPM to use for some of the numbers, so please check it out and let me know if you want to change any of them. I noticed that the 190-210 ranges are 3500 RPM wide and all the others are 4200 RPM wide, did I get these correct???

thank you!
I REALLY do appreciate the effort, as I'm sure most of us on this site do,
I wish I had your computer skills, (I would fix several things that NEEDED fixing like that chart)
but I barely get by until my kids show me exactly how to do something on the computer

You don't need to go to your kids for everything, PLEASE just ask and I will see if I can help :!: :!: I work in IT and would be enjoy helping. Just like you enjoy helping with performance questions! Although working in IT doesn't mean I know about ALL aspects of computers, but I can usually find the answer when I need to!!! I guess the numbers were OK then, they are just guidelines, so not too critical to be exact I suppose.

Any other charts that need a face lift???

could you make this picture a bit larger and clearer, showing the 6 index marks
many guys don,t understand that on these multi key timing sets there areTHREE different letters,
on the crank gear and three matching keyway slots.

0 on the cam gear gets lined up with 0 on the crank gear, if the 0 crank key slot is used to index the cam at TDC

0 on the cam gear gets lined up with R on the crank gear, if the R crank key slot is used to index the cam at 4 degrees retarded from TDC

0 on the cam gear gets lined up with A on the crank gear, if the A crank key slot is used to index the cam at 4 degrees ADVANCED from TDC

I thought the other chart might be a little big so here is exactly the same picture, except it's smaller and may work better. I will have the timing gear picture shortly.

yes thats the CAM GEAR, INDEX MARK THAT YOU WOULD NORMALLY ALIGN AT the 6- O,clock position with the crank gears index at the 12 o,clock possition when installing a cam

Grumpy,

This chart shows how engine size effects the RPM range.

I added the additional info from the table you see at the bottom. I tried to adjust the numbers so there was smooth and logical progression from one duration to another and from one CID to another. Please review the new bar graph and let me know if something looks wrong so I can make changes.

, THANK YOU,!
you continue to be a huge benefit to the site and are helping many guys, get a better grasp several concepts

Thanks!!! I hope the numbers are ok, I would hate to be putting out bad information.

Anything else you need???

If you ever need help with your computer I have a way to connect with your computer and see your screen. I can also move the mouse and work just like if I was there physically. Its much easier to SEE what's happening on someones computer, instead of them describing the problem to me. Its called NTR , but basically I email you with a link and we both connect to the same website. We would probably want to be on the phone together when this happens.

Here is the home page:

what do you see as areas we need to work on
to draw more people to the site?
to clarify any discussions?
what type of info do you think may be lacking or not covered well?
