New guy checking in

Evening gents, nice place ya have here

I have a '59 chevy 1/2 ton that I have rebuilt/restored from almost the ground up. Hardly anything is original anymore, but it all looks like it is cause it is all vintage from other vehicles or I fabricated it to look factory - well all except the cross members... It has a 357ci SBC with iron vortec heads, a mild cam, 600CFM carb, air gap RPR intake, corvette 2-1/2" manifolds and a TH350 pushing a 3.42 geared posi on 31.5" BFGs and it can smoke the tires for 100 feet. I'm going to the dyno in 2 weeks, can't wait!

I mozied on over following one of those links that Grumpy is so good at putting in his posts so I HAD to join!

Glad to be here, looking to learn a lot, hope to help some too

Cheers!

glad you stopped by!
it looks like you've had enough experience to add a good deal of useful info to the site , so please fell free to post any helpful info you might have as we all learn more when we share or experience
(BOTH GOOD AND BAD)
If your like most guys you learned LIKE I DID, by BOTH your mistakes and successes
one thing IVE sure learned is that the PRE 1980 or so cars are FAR more fun to work on, in many cases

Welcome aboard, octanejunkie! I'm sure you will like it here.

Nice rig you've got there! Your engine is quite a bit like the one we built for my son's 3rd gen. Camaro daily driver.

Best regards,

Harry
